847 bags in 37 days

By Jasmine Topham, #bundleupyeg founder

Holy smackers guys…we have been busy and loving every minute of it!

Thanks to all of your incredible donations, we have collected 847 bags of warm winter clothing and delivered all of that to Edmonton homeless shelters in just 37 days. I can’t believe it! We have made 46 deliveries of clothing to Hope Mission, Bissell Centre, Boyle Street and Mustard Seed since November 1.

I am in awe of all of you donating and of my incredible team and box hosting partners. We are team of volunteers who mostly all work full-time and operate #bundleupyeg during our evening hours and weekends. It’s amazing to see the love and support we receive from the Edmonton community, especially this year! In the past, the most we donations we have ever collected was 510 bags in two months during our 2016 campaign. As you can see, we’ve already far surpassed that in just 37 days!

We have 11 days remaining in the campaign. Do you think we will reach 1,000 bags by our last day on December 18?!

Here’s a look at some of you wonderful folks donating to us. From individuals and local businesses to big organizations, we are grateful to you all for supporting #bundleupyeg.

This group of photos includes folks from GMC Capital Buick, the Nook Cafe, 102.3 Now! Radio, Grant MacEwan University, Refinery Clothing, Horizon North Logistics, Cafe Rista, Heart Print Threads and countless other special people who have taken the time to dig through their closets and collect donations on behalf of their friends and family. You’re all amazing!  Thank you for helping us keep Edmonton’s homeless warm this winter.
