As always, you have stepped up to the call to action for warm winter clothing!
As temperatures have plumetted this week and snow has blanketed our city, there was a dire need for warm winter clothing to help keep the Edmonton homeless community safe and warm. You responded in droves to the call.
In just five days, our incredible team of volunteers has collected 60 bags of clothing. As of tomorrow afternoon, almost 80% of that haul will be in the shelters doors as we have delivered to Boyle Street twice in those five days and to Bissell Centre on Monday afternoon.
I encourage you to get to know our volunteers a little better by checking out our Instagram page where we have posted their photos and a little description on why they are volunteering for #bundleupyeg this year.
PS – if you notice the adorable #bundleupyeg hats in photos, those hats were a generous donation to our team from Print Machine who is also hosting a collecting box this year. Thank you Print Machine for helping keep our volunteers warm as they’re out collecting clothing donations!
Thank you everyone who has donated so far and is helping us help keep Edmonton’s homeless community warm. You are making such an impact and please know that every single donation matters.
Just a heads up that we will be at Santa’s Little Helpers Christmas Shopping Extravaganza this Sunday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to collect clothing donations. Feel free to swing by with your donations, or just to say hello. Hope to see you there!
Be in touch soon!
