First of all – thank you! Your outpouring of request for donations has been incredible. We have tons of pickups lined up and we’re ready to collect and deliver your warm things to our local homeless shelters who are in dire need for them right now.
I delivered our first load of donations to Boyle Street yesterday and can tell you first-hand that the need for warm clothes is extremely real. Their shelter alone is down about 50% in their donations — likely due in large to the fact winter seems to have hit us very suddenly and without warning.
Right now, the biggest need is for socks, hats, mittens and belts (most pants that come in to shelters are too big for the homeless community members).
If you have any donations to give, feel free to drop them off at one of our collection boxes within the city:
- Nov. 1 to Dec.18 — 102.3 Now! Radio (Suite 102, 9894-42 Avenue, Edmonton)
- Nov. 1 to Dec. 18 — Local Public Eatery, South Common (1820-99 St NW, Edmonton)
- Nov. 1 to Dec. 18 — Print Machine, Whyte Avenue (8124 Gateway Blvd, Edmonton)
- Nov. 25 to Dec.18 — The Gift Wrap Station at Kingsway Mall (1 Kingsway Garden Mall NW, Edmonton)
Or, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a pickup — please include optional dates and times that would work for you to swing by.
Thanks, Edmonton! Let’s keep the giving going.
