2016 goal reached: new goal is 200 bags

Thanks to the generosity of Edmontonians, we have already surpassed our #bundleupyeg 2016 campaign goal to collect 130 bags of warm clothing for local homeless shelters!

But we aren’t stopping there.

We are now challenging Edmontonians to see just how many clothing donations we can bring in. To date, our record total is 170 bags (collected last year). I’m hoping that in the next three weeks, we can smash through that and hit 200 bags! If so, that would make 2016 our most successful year yet.

#bundleupyeg founder Jasmine Topham (top left) poses with 22 bags of clothing donations delivered to Boyle Street staff (top right) on Nov.30.

Since Nov.1, we have collected 138 bags/boxes of warm winter clothing. Thanks to the help of Bill and Maria Franklin, all of those donations have been delivered to Bissell Centre, Hope Mission, Boyle Street and Mustard Seed (Edmonton chapter). We are already into our second round of deliveries to each shelter.

Roughly 16 bags/boxes of clothing was brought to Now! Radio on Friday, Dec.2. Of that, 7 boxes contained brand new winter gear!

Almost 70 bags/boxes of those, have come from the 102.3 Now! Radio donation box! As a result, we have extended the donation box there to run until Dec.15. There are also donation boxes currently running at Kingsway Mall in the holiday lounge and at Blitz Conditioning fitness studios.

Long-time #bundleupyeg donors Edie and Ron were the lovely folks who broke our 130 bags threshold. This is their second round of #bundleupyeg donations since Nov.1 bringing in more than 20 bags total. Thank you Edie and Ron! You are rockstars!

Just a reminder that we will be collecting donations until Christmas Eve. Please check out our ‘How to Donate” section for more details if you have donations to give.

Thank you everyone for your support! We are thrilled with the progress of this year’s campaign and can’t wait to see the end result.

All our love,

Jasmine and Ryan.
