2015 campaign wraps up

After a busy three months of collecting warm clothing donations, the 2015 #bundleupyeg campaign wrapped up on Friday, Jan.1

Although we just fell short of our 200 bag goal, we came in with a total of 170 bags of warm winter clothing collected and delivered to homeless shelters and support organizations throughout Edmonton since October.

This makes the 2015 campaign our most successful to-date since I created #bundleupyeg in 2013!

To date, #bundleupyeg has collected and delivered 370 bags of warm winter clothing donations for the homeless community in our city since 2013.

I’d like to thank everyone who supported #bundleupyeg this year (and in previous years). Without your support and donations Ryan and I couldn’t make #bundleupyeg possible.

I’d like to especially thank our 2015 partners: 102.3 Now! Radio,West Edmonton Mall, Kingsway Mall and Carlson Wagonlit Travel for allowing a donation collection box in their locations. Aside from the donation box, these partners also supported #bundleupyeg in various ways from working with me to arrange pickup times and providing enormous social media support. Without these collaborations, #bundleupyeg could not have been as successful as it was this year. On that note, a special thank you goes to Ashley Green of Love Letters 2 Strangers for the second annual #bundleoflove workshop this year — what an amazing day it was!

Another heartfelt thank you to the folks of Make Something Edmonton who helped spread the word about #bundleupyeg and allowed me to reach a new audience. In addition, I’d also like to thank the  International Association of Business Communicators  (Edmonton branch)  for taking an interest in my project and allowing me to submit an article to their website.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to the hardworking people of various homeless shelters and support organizations throughout Edmonton. You have been supportive of this project since 2013 and provide an outstanding service to the people in need of our community.

So, that’s a wrap for 2015 folks!

I will return with #bundleupyeg for the 2016 winter season. Until then, I wish you all a happy 2016 and…stay warm!

Sincerely, Jasmine Franklin
